wherever shall the lover rest.

Wherever shall the lover rest,
when the frosty road left untaken,
leads weary to the unexpressed,
nary to the heart’s awaken?

Wherever shall the lover rest,
when tears fall on where fancies grew,
two now parted when once abreast,
be as strangers in a life anew?

Wherever shall the lover rest,
cumming and going, fate unimparted,
with saddest poem beating in her chest,
when Love, herself, is broken-hearted?

  1. I sighed as I read this, a lover’s tale, you write like a scholar, with footnotes referring, that’s smart I say, the story weaned with pointed links, learning from others, their never dying tale.

Genius! I love this. And so I’ll learn more about poets following these links.

  2. you are very talented… i have been reading your work for the past week and am very impressed! keep up the beautiful and meaningful writing!

say something to me.
