run, rabbit, run.

July 26, 2011

Run, rabbit, run.
Bob and weave,
dig and furrow.
Turn tail and go,
beneath the briars,
betwixt the burrows.
Run, rabbit, run.
Love is coming,
and it’s after you.

Now, here, you see, it takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place. If you want to get somewhere else, you must run at least twice as fast as that. – Red Queen, Through the Looking Glass

Really liked this. The idea of love being the predator. Good rhythm, too.

  3. Do ANYTHING to me, just don’t throw me in that briar patch!

Brer Rabbit was one of my absolute favorite characters as a child, and still may be! Glad you made the connection. 😉

      • Love how your rolled Brer Rabbit, Alice in Wonderland, and The Runaway Bunny all into one poem–brings back lots of wonderful memories, though I figured that wasn’t quite your intention. Even if it wasn’t you still get credit for it 🙂

Made me laugh and smile. I liked what Danny said as well…love being predator. Nice analogy there.
